Betty Peak Wins

In this season of change, the NFL football pool welcomes the first woman champion in history. Betty Peak eked out a one-game victory ahead of Kurt Wolken on Sunday, with the Alexander household (Mike and Mary) tying for third place. Lana, a newcomer to the pool, wins back her stake.

I'll figure out money and statistical oddities in the next day or two and post the results here. Congratulations, one and all.

Week 16: A Fit of Peak.

Betty Peak and Mary Alexander share the lead headed into the final week, with Lars and Kurt one game back, Bruce two games back, and Mike and myself probably right on the cusp of mathematical elimination at three games back. For a second straight week Betty had the best score; she's come from seven games back (tied for ninth place) in week 14 to being tied for first place at the end of week 16. Well done.

At the other end of the spectrum, I'm hoping Lana Doddington puts together a top-notch week and whips my brother-in-law Dominic to send him spiralling into last place. This is the rare occasion when I truly hope to give Dominic $30.

Week 15

After week 15, Mary retains a two-game lead, Kurt has pulled into second place, and five people are bunched up at third place--Mike, Lars, Betty, myself, and Bruce.

Betty Peak and Maxx Garris both scored a 15--the first time I can recall anyone picking 15 out of 16 games correct. One more game right, and they'd have gotten their money back. Nice job!
